February 4, 2020 COVID-19 report

News reports coming in the last hour (not yet incorporated into ministry reports) inform of a second, presumptive case in B.C. Details about this new case will be forthcoming tomorrow. The other B.C. case, reported earlier, involves a man who is recovering at home, in self-isolation.

February 1, 2020 COVID-19 report

The number of confirmed cases in our province remains at three. A woman in London in her twenties, with mild symptoms and who is recovering at home in self-isolation. The other two positive cases, a Toronto couple in their fifties, continue to recover well at home in self-isolation.

It has been almost a week since Ontario reported its first case of the coronavirus. Today, we learned of a third positive case in our province in the city of London, involving a woman in her twenties with mild symptoms and who is recovering at home in self-isolation.

During the daily briefing with ministry and EOC officials, we learned that Ontario continues to have the same two positive cases. One person, a man in his early 50s remains in hospital at Toronto’s Sunnybrook Hospital in stable condition . His wife is in self-isolation at home.

During Wednesday’s daily briefing with ministry and EOC officials, the confirmed number of positive cases in Ontario remains at two. On Tuesday, Jan. 28, the first case in B.C. was reported, involving a man who had recently travelled back home to that province from the city of Wuhan.

Today, Ontario health officials confirmed its second “presumptive” case of 2019-nCoV in Toronto, Canada. It was confirmed that the wife of the province’s first case had tested positive for the virus at Ontario’s public health laboratory.
