About

Dr. Doris Grinspun is Chief Executive Officer of the Registered Nurses' Association of Ontario (RNAO), the professional association representing registered nurses, nurse practitioners and nursing students in the province of Ontario, Canada's largest jurisdiction. Read Doris' bio.

Since 1925, RNAO has advocated for healthy public policy, promoted excellence in nursing practice, increased nurses’ contribution to shaping the health-care system, and influenced decisions that affect nurses and the public they serve. For more information about RNAO, visit our website at RNAO.ca or follow us on Facebook, RNAO's Twitter  and Doris' Twitter .

The first COVID-19 case in Ontario was reported in January 2020. The province remains under a state of emergency in response to the outbreak. And as it has since January, RNAO remains actively engaged with multiple stakeholders about developments and planning related to this deadly virus. You can check RNAO's COVID-19 portal here. We continue to send regular COVID-19 updates to keep you fully informed and share important resources. If you would like to receive these updates, please write to Peta-Gay (PG) Batten <pgbatten@rnao.ca>.

Our updates are being read by more than 200,000 RNs, NPs, RPNs, other health professionals and BPSOs at home and abroad. We are grateful for the feedback we have received. It demonstrates your trust in us and our resolve to speak out and provide comprehensive and factual information, alongside important evidence-based policy analysis and practice tools to deal with the pandemic. The information you share about your challenges and inspiration on the frontlines and in the executive rooms informs our writing for this blog. We stand with you and by you in fighting COVID-19 with knowledge, compassion and courage.
